Word scramble variations

  • Team relay. Split the room into two teams with one sheet each. Each guest solves one word and passes the sheet on.
  • Name scramble. Choose My own words and type the names of the guests. Everyone has to find their own name and two others.
  • Baby name reveal. If the parents are sharing the name, make it the last word on the sheet and let the first guest to solve it announce it.
  • Clue round. Read a clue out loud for every word nobody solved, such as “you push it to the park” for stroller.

Tips for the host

  • Print one extra sheet for the guest who arrives late.
  • Use the hard sheet as a tie-breaker. Two-word phrases separate the fast solvers from the rest.
  • Keep the prize small and quick to hand over, so the next game can start right away.
  • Kids can play too. The baby animal sheet has a clue next to every word, which helps younger guests.

Frequently asked questions

Where are the answers to the baby word scramble?

In the answer key on this page, one list per sheet in the same order as the sheet. The Print the answer key button prints only the answers for the sheet you have on screen.

How long should guests get?

Five minutes suits a 20-word sheet. Give the two-word phrases sheet a little longer, because those are harder.

Can I add the baby's name?

Yes. Choose My own words, type the baby’s name, the parents’ names or your shower theme, and make the sheet. Your words stay in your browser and are not sent anywhere.

Why does Shuffle give different letters?

Every shuffle makes a new scramble of the same words, so two tables can play different sheets. The answer key stays in the same order, so the host can still check them.

Is it free?

Yes. Print as many sheets as you need, with no sign-up.
