Thanksgiving Would You Rather Questions
80 would you rather questions for the Thanksgiving table, sorted in the order the day goes: the kitchen, dinner, pie, the afternoon and the family. They are all safe to read with grandparents and kids in the room. For live voting on other questions, open the would you rather game.
Stuck for a question? Let the phone choose one from the lists below.
How to play would you rather at Thanksgiving
- Pick a reader. Whoever is sitting closest to the phone reads one question out loud.
- Everyone answers at once on a count of three: raise a fork for the first option, a spoon for the second.
- The losing side explains itself. Keep it to one sentence each, or dinner gets cold.
- Pass the phone to the next person for the next question.
Forks and spoons make the vote easy to see across a long table, and nobody has to stand up.

A round plan for Thanksgiving Day
You do not need to play all 80 at once. Spread a few through the day:
| When | Group | How many | Tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| While people arrive | Cooking | 3 to 5 | Ask whoever is stuck waiting in the kitchen. |
| Once everyone is seated | At the table | 5 | Read one between each dish being passed. |
| Before dessert | Pie and leftovers | 5 | The winner of each vote gets their slice first. |
| On the couch | The afternoon | As many as you like | Play during the commercial breaks. |
| At the kids’ table | Silly ones | All 10 | Let the oldest kid read. |
Three Thanksgiving twists
- Thankful tiebreak. When the table splits exactly in half, each side names one thing it is thankful for, and the youngest player picks the winner.
- Napkin ballot. Everyone writes A or B on a napkin and flips it over at the same time, so the loudest relative cannot sway the vote.
- Guess the host. Before each vote, the table guesses what the host will pick. Everyone who guessed right gets the next serving.

Frequently asked questions
Are these Thanksgiving questions family-friendly?
Yes. All of them are written to be read out with grandparents and young kids at the table. There is nothing about politics, religion or anyone’s weight.
How many Thanksgiving would you rather questions are there?
80, in 6 groups that follow the day from the kitchen to the couch. None of them are in the 240-question would you rather game.
How long does a round take?
About a minute a question, longer if someone has to defend their answer. The round plan on this page uses 25 to 30 questions, so about half an hour spread across the day.
Can kids read the questions?
Yes. Most options are short, and the silly group is written for the kids’ table. A confident reader of about seven can run it.
